Hüseyin Güngör is a Visiting Fellow in Philosophy at Princeton University during Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. He is a permanent Lecturer (≈Tenured Assistant Professor) in World Philosophy at University of Glasgow. His research brings together philosophy in the Islamic world and contemporary philosophy by drawing both from history of philosophy in 8-16th century Islamic world and from contemporary philosophy of language, epistemology and metaphysics. He develops ideas in the great Islamic era with contemporary philosophical rigor. He also works on the nature of modality, attitudes and misleading communication. On his free time he dabbles in what and how attention-based transformers teach us about age-old philosophical questions.
